I had the pleasure of meeting Kelly & Mike well before their wedding. Upon meeting them (and the rest of Kelly’s immediate family for a family photoshoot) I could tell that these were amazing people. The type of people who you just love being around and want to surround yourself by. I could also tell just how much in love Kelly & Mike were. They were beyond natural in front of the camera and just glowing as I photographed them as a couple.
Last fall Kelly, Mike & I met up for their engagement session. They laughed and smiled and just had fun with each other. I knew then that they were going to have an amazing wedding day.
Their time together as a couple has been full of ups and downs and as we all heard in the speeches at their wedding…… they have always been there for each other and their families (good times and tough times).
It was hot, hot, hot on their wedding day and they were still happy and excited. They didn’t even bat an eye when I said about 10 times “one more shot”! Thank goodness, their beautiful Mill Street venue had cool AC to cool everyone down. Kelly & Mike re-arranged their Ottawa wedding so that they did a first look and all photos before the ceremony so that they could enjoy their cocktail hour with guests. Something that I love as a photographer is that they also squeezed in some extra time to do some images of them once the sun was lower. The Mill street is surrounded by trees & a river. It’s a stunning location and venue. Kelly & Mike were so natural I just kept thinking of other things to photograph. I have collected some of my favorites to show you below.
Congrats Kelly & Mike! It was a blessing to meet you and document your wedding day.
