TELLING STORIES OF

LOVE

Emily & Ben

This is a particularly special post for me. It is my first post since moving from the -32 temperatures we were experiencing in Ottawa, ON to the crazy +10 to -10 temperature shifts we have had in Halifax, NS.  The weather doesn’t really matter though, what’s most important about this post is who is in it! Meet Emily & Ben. Emily has been a friend of mine for years now. We met when she was a photography student at Algonquin collage. She did her co-op placement with our studio and I just knew there was something incredibly special about this bubbly yet responsible teen. No longer a teenager but a beautiful young women Emily is a lover of animals (especially her horse), photography, her family & friends, and an amazing person all around.  She volunteers a ton of her time in the community. She helps at the City of Ottawa events and also is a brownie leader. This leads up to what happened after her co-op placement…..

I was getting busier and busier with our photography studio and Emily was fresh out of school just starting her photography business. I had an idea that may help us both. I asked her if she would help me with my business and with my three girls while she was building her own business. I figured this may be a good fit since I was fairly flexible and could work around her business schedule. It worked out perfectly! She would spend time with the kids and I could work away knowing they were in the best hands and having a ton of fun!

Moving away from this amazing person who has become a part of our family was very tough and I am not exaggerating when I say we miss her daily. The kids love her dearly and miss their time with her. Before moving I wanted to do something special for her so I asked if she would like to do a couples session with her boyfriend Ben. I was so happy when they agreed!

We decided to choose a local park and keep it casual. These two were so much fun and so natural together. It was my pleasure to capture these moments for them. Although everyone was a little chilly this late November evening; the beautiful sunset kept us warm enough to enjoy the session.

Enjoy Emily & Ben! Miss you tons! xo
